Local Sports
The Spokane Regional Sports Commission knows that our organization is only as strong as the community we serve. We work to offer support and guidance to local sports groups who want to make their event the best that it can be. Local organizations, facilities, and sports franchises provide the backbone for Spokane's success. The Inland Northwest has four NCAA Division I universities, one Division III University, and two community colleges. Spokane is also home to four professional sports teams, and numerous facilities and venues.
Many of these organizations have worked together to earn the region the chance to host big name events including the Far West Soccer Championships, US Figure Skating National Championships, NCAA DI Basketball Championships, and the Ironman Triathlon. The Sports Commission exists to add to this synergy and provide leadership in economic and community development through sports.
